I thought I should warn my fellow internet folk. If you’re thinking ‘No, a distance relationship won’t be that hard, and it will be a good way to prove our love’ or whatever. Don’t. If you can avoid it don’t do it. It sucks balls.
Sure you’ll come out of it as a stronger couple at the end, but the middle bit sucks. A lot. It’s like having your heart broken every day.
Some days it’s great. Sometimes the time difference works out so that he can send you a cute message when he goes to bed and you get it when you wake up for an early shift and you’re walking on clouds while you work for your minimum wage.
But other times you get home from a shitty day at work and something else crappy happens and you need some support but noone else is home when you get in and it’s another three hours till he finishes work in his timezone and you realise that it doesn’t matter. You realise that in that moment it doesn’t matter that you’re madly in love and that the person you love wants to be with you more than anything because they can’t be with you and you can’t be with them. In that moment you are completely alone. And that sucks.
And you will go through that almost every day for however long you’re apart. Which in our case is 4 months. And don’t even get me started on the sexual frustration…

Sorry about that.
But the thing is that I do nothing with my life at the moment.
I’m always either in my pyjamas or in my work uniform.
My life basically goes like this:
-wake up
-driving practice with dad
-make lunch for me and my mum
-go to work
-cook dinner
-eat
-skype the boyfriend
-sleep
-repeat
I’ve been doing the same thing for do long now that I just feel numb. But the thing is that I’m not all that motivated to change anything because I know it’s only for another 38 days.
So yeah, I’m a boring person with a dull life, no news as such.

So, It’s been going on for a while now and I think it’s about time I told the internet about him.
I didn’t just pick up an empty bank account in Sweden I also picked up a boyfriend.
He’s blue eyed, a little strange and entirely wonderful.
We met back in May last year, when I went to France over summer, we talked everyday. Then I went back to Sweden for a couple of weeks and stayed with him. We still talked everyday when I was in Canada. In November we said ‘I love you’ then both freaked out about it an got drunk. When I was reasonably tipsy I decided to go back to Sweden to see him in January. The first week I was back in Sweden He told me he was moving to Australia. Currently we are both saving to pay for his visas (he’s coming as a PR in September) and for my flights to go visit him in June and for all those moving costs.
So yeah, I’m in love. It’s great I highly recommend it. Except if you can manage it don’t do distance , that part really sucks.

Cat got back from the vet. She’s all uterus free!
Poor things been home for three hours now and still hasn’t left the cat basket. She’s been all sleepy and adorable in my room while I fill out visa forms and make lists. Cat doesn’t even seem to mind me playing The Dresden Dolls quite loud. Oh the power of drugs.

Trying to use Skype on my computer last night. It was being all choppy and kept cutting out. I thought it was the wifi. Hung up, called using the same wifi but from my phone. Worked perfectly, video was clear audio wasn’t choppy.
I have proved that my phone is a better computer than my computer.

From way back when in Movember. But I finally have the photos from the Movember Gala in Halifax.
I did the Hitler/Chaplin ‘stache depending on your view. It was great fun.
I’m totally not doing it again this year or anything … *shifty eyes*

They actually just reactivated my old L’s so I didn’t have to pay again and I’m still in before the ‘have to do your log book in at least 6 months’ rule.
I also got my motorbike Learners permit.
Because my life goal is to be awesome and badass. Evidently.

We were in the paper!!
So remember that dinner thing that was all fancy well here is me my mum and my sister being all fancy.
I should let you know, being in the paper in Geraldton isn’t that big of a deal. Everyone’s been in the paper.

This was the decorations for the 30th anniversary dinner at the QPT. It was lovely. Good food and good company in fancy dresses sat at fancy tables.

So a few things.
1) I got new underwear and it’s really pretty and really girly and I feel like a boss when I wear it.
2) I have my own room. We switched out the rooms to how they used to be on the weekend (I’ll post photos later). The difference having my own space has made to my sanity is impressive. After not even having my own room for over a year just the concept of having my own door is magical.
3) My shiny new phone seems to have made me a slightly more organised person. I have been using the calender on it for everything and I have a little app that buzzes at me and tells me to do things.
4) I am apparently a web designer now. I did a basic coding course in Canada, just HTML, CSS and a touch of javascropt and Jquery. I did it so I could code my own website for my photography. Anyway I said I would make my dad’s site for his shop because it kinda bugs me that he has a bookshop but doesn’t have a website. And my dad being my dad hired me for this other lady who is a comedian and wants a website made. I met with her and she doesn’t want anything too complex so I’m doing it. Upside: I get paid. So yeah, that’s happening.

Being a boss.
I got home from a 5 hour coffee wenching shift and decided to rescue the rotting food in the fridge. I made guacamole out of almost off avocado, banana muffins out for the black skinned soft bananas and out o th turned to mush mangoes: jam.
